BRITISH CURRICULUM

The British curriculum, often referred to as the traditional education system, is based on the UK national curriculum. It emphasises final examinations (such as GCSEs and A-levels) and encourages a more specialised approach to subjects. Students in the British curriculum develop a strong academic foundation and are assessed primarily through examinations. In the British curriculum, there are several stages called Key Stages that have been established to administer progressive, standardised examinations throughout a child’s education in England and Wales. Each Key Stage consists of a number of school years:

Foundation stage FS2

(4 to 5 years old)

In this class, there are three major areas:
  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal and social development
And four specific areas of learning:
  • Alphabet, phonics
  • Living right, growing strong
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Arts and design
These classes focus on the overall development of the child. Toddlers benefit from a stimulating online environment that promotes English language learning while encouraging creativity and natural curiosity in children.

Key stage 1 :

Year 1 and Year 2

From 5 to 7 years old: Children can join Year 1 and Year 2 classes. This stage allows them to further develop their basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills. The subjects studied are as follows:
  • Phonics
  • Living right, growing strong
  • Mathematics and geometry
  • English
  • Science
Science, humanities and creative arts are also part of the curriculum. Children are encouraged to explore their interests and talents.

Key Stage 2 :

Year 3 to Year 6

From 7 to 11 years old: Key Stage 2, which refers to the second stage of primary school, is divided into four classes: Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. Pupils gain a deeper understanding of the subjects, strengthen their critical thinking skills and prepare to pass the Cambridge International Examinations. The subjects studied are as follows:
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Geography
  • Living right, growing strong
  • Writing and reading
  • Optional subjects: Arabic and French
Key Stage 2 marks an important milestone in pupils’ educational journey, providing them with the essential foundations for their academic and professional future.

Key Stage 3 :

Year 7 to Year 11

From 11 to 16 years old:
Our school will soon offer Key Stage 3 which is divided into 5 classes: Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11.
At the end of Year 11 (aged 16), pupils take important examinations called GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education). The subjects studied in these classes are as follows:
    • English
    • Mathematics
    • Physics and Chemistry
    • Science
    • History and Geography
    • Social Sciences
  • Optional subjects: Arabic and French
Pupils may choose to leave school after these examinations, or continue studying for further examinations to enter higher education.

At Globe Schooler, each classroom is designed to provide an interactive and engaging learning environment, with an emphasis on the holistic development of each child.

In this tailor-made programme, children from FS2 to Year 7 receive structured support, with between 7 and 11 hours of lessons per week, in the morning or afternoon depending on their level.

Thanks to our online British programme, supervised by experienced and passionate teachers, your child will progress at their own pace and develop solid skills in all essential subjects.

Throughout the year, quarterly assessments allow us to measure their progress, calmly prepare them for future exams that they can take as independent candidates at approved exam centres, and consolidate their knowledge step by step.

A detailed school report is issued each term, and parent-teacher meetings are held regularly to monitor each pupil’s progress and adjust their course if necessary.
